We collect personal information you provide when registering on the SAPPGA platform, including your name, email address, phone number, business details, and payment information. We also collect information about how you use the platform (pages visited, features used).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain your SAPPGA membership and access to platform features.
  • To process payments via our secure payment provider (Paystack).
  • To communicate with you about your account, subscriptions, and platform updates.
  • To display your business listing in the public directory (if you opt in).
  • To issue certificates and maintain accreditation records.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Paystack — for secure payment processing.
  • SendGrid — for transactional emails (verification, receipts).
  • SAPPGA Admins — authorised staff who manage the platform.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing (bcrypt), and access-controlled admin accounts. Payment card details are never stored on our servers — they are handled entirely by Paystack.

5. Your Rights (POPIA)

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:

  • Access your personal information held by SAPPGA.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Object to processing of your personal information.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (JWT tokens) and session management only. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your membership and request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law (e.g., financial records retained for 5 years per SARS requirements).
